The Big Short is a complicated masterpiece. It’s complicated because it is a hard movie to follow and understand. I watched it three times and could understand bits and pieces, but it is also hard to understand. As always Steve Carell did a masterful job like always in this complicated movie. Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt also did an outstanding job in this movie. I don’t know how they got into their characters and how they studied the market, the housing bubble, and so much more for this movie but they know more than me in economics that’s for sure. All the complex structures they accomplished in the movie are phenomenal. I may not know what is going on half the time I need to watch it a little bit more before I understand every single detail. I liked that Michael Burry shorted the housing market which was really risky but he made a lot of money afterwards so that was really impressive, I also loved that scene in the Sushi restaurant where Mark Baum realized that the whole world economy might go corrupt that was even harder than shorting the housing market and Mark Baum learned that the hard way. The saddest part of the movie was when Mark Baum was talking about his brother’s suicide and becomes depressed. I was so depressed as well so I was crying. Mark Baum is an amazing character he is so smart and I love how Steve Carell’s character even though the movie had a lot of rough patches but he made it through. Steve Carell did an outstanding job in this complicated masterpiece and ever since I finished the movie that made me respect Steve Carell even more. I love movies but not only this was one of the best movies I have ever seen this was very complicated. I love movies but this one is a complicated masterpiece there is no other way to put it in my opinion.
